@pendragonz7 I have actually used them a few times. In some RPGs (including D&D), there is a use for d100s/d%s that involves big-huge tables with lots and lots of possibilities. And the d30 can be used for rolling letters (1=A ... 26=Z; reroll 27-30), and in fact they make them now with the letters engraved right into them!

Well, since you did say you were going through the common types of dice, I guess I won't get on your case about forgetting the d1 (a ball, used as a joke), the d2 (a coin), or the d3 (I own two of these, and they are three-sided). There are also d5s, d7s, d14s, d16s, d24s, d50s, and d100s.

@pendragonz7. Yeah somethings never change. but saying "d6, d8, d10" back in the day, other than in writing, was never done by ragtag group of little dweebs stoner punks we were. D&D was an escape, but we were also convinced we were having a pagan sabbath consulting a a mystic oracle of our European Ancestors in more primitive times. I mean go find the Gygax interview where he discovers he's a descendent of Goliath from the Bible.

I actually left out the D30 & above because of their rarity. I also own a 30 & a D100 but can't think of any time I've ever needed to use them. So without a good background for the discussion I left them out. Thanks for giving these littl known large numberers some love though sir.

I keep a jar of dices in a jar and take account for each single dice in them. Back in the heig of the D&D popularity the 1980's when D & D books could be bought in ToysRUs .. . we never cared to call them d6 or d4 or any of that b.s. Back in the day D&D was game to escape like smoking pot.

Trust me, D&D is STILL a game to escape and is... like... smoking pot. Yeah, that part is still the same. I actually still have a set of the classic dice from the D&D box set, though the box itself was purchased by a friend not me.
Maybe I'll do a video about my 70s 1st print D&D kit books.
