@lasarelight Because a lot of women do experience problems in that first month, including myself. If you're constantly told it's easy peasy, you're more likely to believe you're a failure and give up.

@lasarelight I was a seasoned breast feeder when my 5th child was born with a tongue tie. He lost over a Lb before I even realized there was a problem. He was hospitalized and I felt like a failure, most would have given up.. it is still hard with him, but worth it. I wouldn't give up a moment... Women need more lactation consultants and much more support. Everyone, If you have breast fed, mentor a mom, and if you know a breast feeder, give her a thumbs up and tell your proud of her :)

But why the big talk on it's hard??? It wasn't for me and my boys, instant latch at birth and we were off. Let's allow more positive expectations and take the 'hard' out of being a woman.
