  • I remember the first time I saw this, it was on a special weekly "program" called "Monday's Newcomers" where they played all the new adverts for the coming week. I've never quite figured out why, but the versions in Monday's Newcomers were often longer than the versions that were aired, making me wonder why they never showed the longer versions during the week, and why bother making longer versions if they were never used?

  • @Floobegusted - Mike Batt (who also wrote the jingle) is small, so he's got quite a high voice. Likewise, Leo Sayer and Benny Gallagher (of Gallagher & Lyle) are both small and have high voices.

  • @goldheartbadge Really? No offense but it sounds like a lady.

  • I remember that my mother had a cereal bowl with the red and white straws all around it and words above the straws saying "watch out for the Humphrey patrol"

  • I don't know if he wrote it, but Mike Batt is the singer on this jingle.

  • I was a kid when these ads were on.

If my missus finishes her curry first she's after me with her spoon and describes herself as a Humphrey.

  • They *scared* me. Watch out...indeed.

  • I remember this! When I was little my Mum would sometimes get my brother and I a milkshake straw each as a treat. Fab memories.

  • My little brother was the house humphrey he was always caneing the milk , little pig, hehe heh

My Late Mother and father adored this Advert, it brings tears of joy.

    Thank You.

  • Thanks, Its not just a midlands thing then. My other half grew up in "The Deepings" near Peterborough which is a bit "out in the sticks", so maybe Humphrey never made it there. Me n my little bro had the stickers too. We used to blag the odd ride in the milk float round to the next street or 2. It wouldn't be allowed these days, even if your kids could find an electric milk float. Happy days.
