  • So what you guys gonna do about the Gee DUHbya Chimp administration threatening the roadless areas out there?

  • Everything we can! This is terrible! 7.6 million acres out of 9.3!!!

  • The road grants access to fire crews and helipads. The trees are mostly Lodgepole Pine and Ponderosa (big ones).

  • Visit idahohotsprings dot com and check out pictures and ratings, that should help you decide.

  • The reason the trees are so sparse in this area has to do with the rockiness of the terrain. Most areas of Idaho are extremely rugged. Further north there are a lot of trees, but in the Frank Church trees are sparse.

  • I wonder what Frank Church would have to say about that! Great vid. Would love to make it up there someday.

  • Thing is, what kind of outdoorsman takes the time to backpack 7 to 9 miles to a pristine place and doesn't have the smarts to NOT wash yourself with shampoo or soap in the lake?

  • Yeah, you and I would get along REALLY well. I went in to West Lake in the West Canada Lake Wilderness and people left behing dishwashing soap at the leantos - apparently washing they're dishes in or near a pristine lake in a beautiful wilderness area. I packed those fuckers out. I would have been livid if I caught anybody doing dumb things.

  • "I don't know how there can be private land in the middle of a wilderness"

    Outrageous, isn't it?

We have a situation like that in the Five Ponds Wilderness in the Adirondacks...a speck of private land in the middle of wilderness - which allows ATV's on the trail to their land. Ridiculous

  • Is it normal to have the trees looking so spread out there or is that from logging? I'm use to dense forests in the Adirondacks.

  • Why is there a road that continues into wilderness?
