@cubdukat It is the propulsion system. It's the acceleration and power to the train which creates the noise before the train gets up around track speed. New Yorks newest cars have the loudest propulsion system I've ever heard.

Same Thing with BART's Trains
and Lirr m7's
They make the exact same sound as the BART's A types

@skullcrusher301 The trains in LA do the same thing. I think it's the propulsion system getting up to speed or something.
