Aaah, welcome to the 40 year project! Congrats to Vanessa & Fernando! Welcome to parenthood. Blink your eyes and the next 20 years are gone. And congratulations to Al & Desi. Welcome to Grandparenthood!
BTW, a quiver hold 11 arrows = one down, ten to go. Let the Lord build and guard your family, else you build & guard in vain. Rest in Him in this endeavor. He provides for this family even while you sleep. This child will be your glory or your shame. Invest heavily in him and the other ten ;o). This is your primary task in this life, father and mother. But may your life and hearts orbit around God and not this child, for he is only loaned to your for a time, and more importantly, children must not become idols. God alone satisfies. We were made, like angels, to say, "Whom have I in heaven but You, and on earth (even in the crib), there is none that I desire besides you." Husbands, wives, children, families, and friends are are gracious, but temporary provision for this life. We were created, and now saved, to say, "They are satisfied with children... I will be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness," Psalm 17. Samuel is a window to God's heart. Our eyes and affections should not terminate on the child, but Goodness that gave this little "treasure", Psalm 17, again.
This is your challenge: to maintain a solitary love for God. Then you will see and use all of His creation rightly, to your happiness as well to others. Then your care for this "arrow" will be deep, abiding, and life-giving.
Now, get some rest. You have a long journey ahead of you.
