This is the first installment of the GCR Santa Special Season starting off at Woodthorpe bridge where we see a Santa Special service hauled by Class 45 Peak D123 and K4 No.61994 in the remaining snow that we had been faced with for the past week. We then a returning Santa Plus hauled by the Gresley Society's N2 No.1744. Moving on to a closed Quorn, the Santa Special returns home this time headed backwards by the K4. Then for one of the rare occasions we get to see Privately owned Class 37 No.37 255 cold start! it is wasn't for Nick Tinsley's phone call I wouldn't have been able to capture the final Santa Plus of the day power spectaculously through a desolate, icy Quorn Station. Thanks you Nick! (and Jamie!)

Locos in operation:
-ex.LNER K4 No.61994 'The Great Marquess'
-GNR N2 No.1744
-Class 45 'Peak' No.D123 'Leicestershire & Derbyshire Yeomanry'

  • @EastMidlandsSteam Yes it is, looking forward to it to as it's certainly been a while. It's actually proved my point that there's nothing wrong with it too! :)

  • K4 & Peak were wrong way round! Plus I want to see this bloody dining train in full in its new form!!!! Great Vid!

  • @KWVRMAD There's nothing I can do about that! I will inquire the next time I'm down at the sheds why they roster the lcoos like that, I have wondered as they did it last year! Thanks.
