It's funny that some people say it wouldn't be a contest if you put a turbo on the camaro but a high compression engine doesn't have the same potential as a motor built to boost like the VR-4. You would have to build a 5.7 specifically built for boost to get that potential. And I still say the Vr-4 has more potential.

I'm a Camaro SS owner but I love that 3000GT VR-4. That car had good sports car styling and the twin turbo six made it a cool ride. I like it way better than the wrx.

The corvette didnt step up there game to compete until 1997, thats 6 years of japanese superiority. Even then the Corvette C5 hardly trumped the japanese.

You guys are arguing about two different classes of cars here. The japanese TT's were in competition with the corvette. So you guys talking about boosting the camaro and being better then the 3k is almost naive. Yes you can tune a camaro to be faster than a stock 3k but if someone puts the same money into the 3k that you did youll be back in the same position. All in all its preferance, but American car companies had to step up there game to compete with the Japanese.

if you got low compression, of course the turbo is gonna benefit from this... More fuel, and air can pushed to the chamber. LT1's have 10.4:1 turbo is gonna have very little effect on this engine. Pop in some low compression pistons and a turbo, easily the LT1 can make more than 400hp

You have to crank the boost up on the vr4, My z is na and I took one easily.. But if you do that they should be pretty quick

@3000gtvr4forever Actually, that camaro came stock with around 345 pnd.s of torque. I like camaros but I've just recently discovered the 3000GT VR4s. Definitely want one.
