Video made at level 6 or 7, but you can see the gear is pretty crummy :D, so no I'm not decked out. I was really just testing things.

Not intended to showcase any level of skill, especially since hotkeys are not reliable currently (beta).

Intended to give a glance as to how the Archmage works in a lowbie scenario and how much punishment they can actually take.

I did have a Rune Priest guildie watching over me at the sametime, but that just enabled me to heal others at the as well.

I should also mention, if you get the Keep Gear at rank 10, you get this immense leg up on people (while it is costly though). If anything, I'd say it's like twink gear for your bracket (I really don't understand why they make it only purchase once you hit tier 2).

And, for the record I'm using crummy PQ gear in the video, but like I said I had a Rune Priest buddy partly watching me + of course I was healing myself, but also healing others and throwing the rare DoT

He's wearing at least some of the RRank 6 renown set, so he's at least rank 10, or 11.

With the detaunt and stuff it's pretty ridiculous how much survivability you have, but later on it wont be this easy to simply tank 2-3 DPS.

The gear he's wearing makes a pretty significant difference at low levels...if you're wearing it and they aren't, you have a huge advantage.

Basically if you dont want to get owned in tier 1 you need that rank 6 gear :P

If you're referring to me, I only have PQ gear on right there (which is weak). The mailing system was a bit buggy so I couldn't buy the RR gear (sent myself money from another toon).

The Archmage is only around level 6 or 7 though.

Nonetheless, I doubt I can do that again in the later tiers, unless I have guard on me :D

No, the creators of this game have been in the MMO bussiness since october 2001, 3 years before WoW. And the reason they look like WoW, is because warcraft was heavily inspired in Warhammer FB IP, which this game is based on

Furthermore Paul Barnett has been involved with MUDs even longer, since the early 90s in fact. Anyone ever play Legends of Terris/Cosrin? I did ^^ He was behind those. Those games were incredibly immersive for what's basically a wall of scrolling text, when I found out Paul was involved with WAR I was dead happy, especially being British too, and all. Going to start playing tomorrow/Saturday on my Mac, fingers crossed Boot Camp likes it =]

So yes you are living for quite awhile healing yourself. But as a chosen i rush the archmage and do what they are doing making you heal YOURSELF not the rest of the group. So your healing is useless.

All of them look like WoW cause all of them evolved from the same games like EQ. But he is right, its not like WoW at all. Just think on this.. The good Guys DONT SUCK. Played for 5 hours on closed rvr on the empire side and they kick the chaos ass soo bad that we kept them on the spawn side.
