Actually, that's what they wanted in the east. That is the whole point of socialism. Higher payer for less work. And when the workers don't get it, they form unions that are funded by the government to force the employer to give it to you. That's a socialistic idea.

@Microglia1 if that system is named as communist but is not communist in the fact, there happens everything you said. read marx and then look at USSR, China or NDPK... Is that thing communism?

@Microglia1 totally wrong sir, in a socialist country (not communist) everybody gets free education, health and common goods, in a socialist country you don't need to work like 14 hours a day, you are economic independent, so you are able to compete in your own business, entering a free university by your own studies, in a well done socialism, no women need to prostitute or marry for money. In a well done socialism, everybody works. and some of the most corrupted places are capitalists.

Anyone who said communism is good have not lived under that system. In a free society, if you're smart and hardworking, you will earn your place in society. Communism is about preserving the lazy, the stupid, the weak, and perpetuate a system of corruption that in the long run benefit no one.

@baleariclife89 wow the comment is from a long time ago. I find independent unions free from the government a good thing, but a lot of time, they go to far. Often times a union IS started to protect the workers, but it turns into a power struggle. And if being American is living in America, well than yeah, Im kind of forced into being an American. What does my nationality have anything to do with my politics. I promise you my political beliefs are far from American main stream.
