Tangled Up In Blue - COVER Bob Dylan alternate version

Here's my cover of Bob Dylan's original song. Please know that this is the 'Real Live' version that Bob released in 1984 and is very different from his original 'Blood On The Tracks' version. Many of the lyrics are different and some of the chords are a bit different as well.

For me - this was the 1st version of this song that I had ever heard (I had bought the 'Real Live' cassette tape many years back - and played it over and over just for this version of the song). It wasn't till I later discovered the original studio (Blood On The Tracks) version - that I realized just how very different his live version was! I had aspired to learn this particular version for years - and I finally hammered away at it, as well as trying to make this version my own as well (which I'd like to feel that I did). :)

I know it's quite a long song - and I can't say how long it took me to memorize the lyrics. I've played it many many times for just myself - and so far only twice at open mics.

You did a great job with this. I appreciate the tempo change as I always felt the lyrics didn't match the melody on the original tune. Well done.

Wonderful, simply outstanding and dutiful version of this song. As you state, very different, and in my opinion, superior. Cellarsun music, you nailed it, and you should be proud of your interpretation.

I know everyone seems to do the original 'Blood On the Tracks' version - but my introduction to this song came thru the 'Real Live' cassette from 1984. I kept playing this song over and over. It wasn't till I got farther into Dylan that I noticed how different the 'Real Live' version was from the original. Some of the chords were different too. I'm really happy I've learned this song. It was a bit of a struggle - but very rewarding.
