Peaceful British protests against the G-20 conference resulted in 2 deaths and scores of injuries when protesters were kettled and batoned. The objective of that protest was not to overthrow the government. But imagine the police's response if that was the objective. I have no doubt more would have died.
I am not defending Iran's regime, just attacking Western hypocrisy. The Iranians do not have a global monopoly on oppression. All governments are guilty.
