i use cardstock paper, and it's pretty difficult to smush them, but they're pretty easy to paint. and way light.

I used foamie to make mine ^_^

I was afraid of moisture ruining them, and foamie is more durable.

i know im having the same trouble because that was what i was going to do for haloween , i think im going to attach a small bit of material to the end of the crystals or hot glue it on lolol sorry thats no help but../:
