This film documents the ongoing situation in the Zone of Confidence, the buffer zone established in Central Ivory Coast between Government and rebel forces. Although the area should, in theory, be conflict free, it is in fact the scene of continuing violence, as shown by this footage taken by a Medécins sans Frontières (Doctors without Borders) operator during a six-month period from June to December 2006. The lives of local populations confronted with fear and violence on a daily basis are eloquently illustrated.

Where's France now ? They were there to take what they wanted when it was a coloney. Now when their former colonies need help they only offer a little here and there. Greed and selfishness are the number one problems with humanity. Just take what you want from another. It's a terrible sin..

Zone of confidence. I guess you can be confident in the fact that you will be shot.

It's not luck. It was hard work, capitalism, and democracy. These countries wanted the colonial powers out. This is the result.
