I am newbe to GIMP and the whole designing thing , I have to say with your presentation, Your step by step and well spoken English makes your tutorial the best I have seen so far. I hope to see more of your videos. I can wait to go home and practice. Thank you.

I can never get the line to draw. I set to pencil after making a new layer and select white just like you did, but the line never shows. What am I doing wrong?

This is a great tutorial, but something happens between 3:27 and 3:28. The box where the white gradient has just been added becomes de-selected, but you don't show what the step is. Without that step the next step - drawing the white line - doesn't work. I've tried a variety of things to de-select the upper box but they didn't work. Please can you say what the intermediate step was that enables the white line to be drawn. Thanks.

CTRL+SHFT+A Deselects everything (or you can use the menu bar for Edit, Select, None).
