Lizzy Waldmüller (1904-1945) sings this song from the "musikalisches Lustpiel", today we would say Musical "Anita und der Teufel" from Theo Mackeben. Well known is the version of this song from Rosita Serrano. Lizzy Waldmüller is well known with her song "Bel ami" from film with Willi Forst.

@Zeppelinfaktor I thought fascist music consisted mainly of marches and propaganda music. The lilting, sad strains of this song seen to speak of a much different origin. Perhaps you are not familiar with that which is romantic or beautiful???? Nicht zu danke:0

Ja, eine tolle Sängerin und Schauspielerin ist Lizzi Waldmüller gewesen.
Geboren wurde sie 1904 im Österreichischen Knittelfeld.Ihre Bühnenheimat fand Lizzi Waldmüller an den Berliner Kammerspielen.
Während des 2.Weltkrieges wirkte sie bei den Wunschkonzerten des Rundfunk mit, und war auch bei der Truppenbetreueung tätig.
Am 8.April 1945 starb Lizzi Waldmülle in ihrer Wohnung, als eine Granate neben ihrem Haus einschlug.
Traurig, kurz vor Kriegsende.

Das war eines der Lieblingslieder meines Vaters. Er hatte als Ingenieur in Linz im zweiten Weltkrieg eine jugoslawische Zwangsarbeiterin kennengelernt, in die er sich unsterblich verliebte. Die Trennung hat er wohl nie wirklich verarbeitet.

What a beautiful and talented performer(tragically killed in an American air raid on Vienna in 1945). I do believe that this is the best rendition of this lovely Mackeben song "It's Always Beautiful to Be Near You", the nearest literal translation I am able to come up with in English. Perhaps some help would be in order?
