@shanebear67 Wearing rubber will make absolutely no difference whatsoever. If lightning can travel half a mile through air (an electrical insulator), it won't have a problem travelling through an inch of rubber. Also, the theory that many people have that you're safe in a car due to the rubber tyres is also nonsense. You're safe BECAUSE the car is made of metal.

Fun fact: To survive a direct lightning strike from rubber, it would need to be at least a mile in thickness.

People say that if a bolt of lightning is about to strike near you the hairs on your arm will stand erect. Did you feel any tingling on your arm before the bolt hit?
