That said, this is a classic early 90's era R&B song. Music like this just isn't common anymore. This song came out at a time when the murder rate in innercities all over the US, particularly among African American communities were at an all time high. I remember those days vividly. Kids(Black kids) were shooting and killing each other over their tennis shoes, or T-shirt-logos. This is definitely a positive song from a negative time.

@JudyKlein, the main reason we don't hear good music anymore is because Artists have become less and less original. All anyone can do these days is covers of songs written and performed by Artists from our parents' generation and before. Nothing is new. Different faces and voices singing the same old songs.
