Today we'll be demonstrating this product on tire size 26570R16. What's really nice about this tire chain kit is that it doesn't require driving over the chain, it simply wraps around the tire with easy connection points and go ahead and drive off. It's an easy to use self tensioning system. As you can see here, we have our tire chain laid out, you can tell there's one end that's yellow. That end will get put behind this tire and will meet up to the other end that's blue. Next you'll see the chains themselves, they come around across the top of the tire. After that you'll link the small hooks or small red links together, they are at the ends of chains. In the middle you'll see a tensioning cable which will be connected to the other Thule tensioning device back on the right side. We'll go ahead and install it to show you how it works.

As you can see the yellow end here, we're going to attach to the blue end like so, the next step is take your chains, go all the way around and start pulling them across the tire. Make sure the loop is back behind the tire, pull your chains around which might be a little tough but they'll come around. Also if you have a lot of snow like our situation here, dig all this out so you can get as much as you can underneath the tire here that will go a long way to get the rest of the connections done. First let's connect our red link to our hook. Then we'll go to the bottom here and pull our tensioning cable, again try to get as much underneath the tire here, now we'll put it through this buckle. You open this up and stick the cable in. Try to get a few links in there, then you go up to our tensioning device and you just pull it down to make the last connection. It will actually look pretty akward, as you rotate it will self-center. Now that we have both of our tires chained up, we'll take it for a test drive. As you can see the self-centering system actually worked pretty good, we started off with it right about here and it pulled itself towards the middle. You can see the chain is relatively centered around the tire. After a couple of test runs you can tell the chain has centered itself even more on the tire, which proves that the system works quite well. There you have it for part number THXG-12, the tire chain kit from Thule.
