How to get downloads/custom content on The Sims 2

Recolor: Basically, it's when someone makes a diffrent color of a hair or outfit. For the color to work you need the "base" or "mesh". Usually there is a link to the mesh in the download description, or right below the files.
Retexure:Similar to a recolor. Someone makes a diffrent "texture" or "pattern" for a hair or outfit. You will still need the mesh for it to work.

i click on meshes, did everything you said, and it comes up, but with the crappy hair out thing! i only have 3 cc hairs that work! and my clothes arnt working either.. help?

well make sure you are looking in the right place for your stuff. for examle, some clothes are for teenagers only, adults only, etc. make sure you know what age the clothes you downloaded are for. Same thing with the hair. Some hair is for only a few ages, so look at all of the sim ages. Also, next to all the hair color choices is a little star *. Click there and see if any of your "missing hair" is there. Sometimes you also have to download a hair color and a hair mesh.

@ilovewitchandAken123 i have the same problem. my furniture and stuff works and some eyes did but nothing else will work!!!!!!!!!!!!! i know i downloaded it right and i looked in every thing for it, so did u ever figure it out?
