  • barbara sloan, the lady in the left, is my english teacher right now...

  • what school?

  • Midlothian High school in Midlothian, Virginia. Shes actually a substitute for 6 weeks since my original teacher broke her leg. So she should be leaving in a couple of weeks.

  • Wow. I hadn't realized she'd left the Miami area. Thanks for the update.

  • Was this a CBS O&O station at the time?

  • Yes. CBS bought the station in 1988.

  • I liked WCIX's look/interface better than WFOR's. At least WTVJ stayed basically the same when the switch happened.

  • I used to have such a crush on her!

  • There was nothing wrong with their logo or their reporting or their content! I miss the 6 but the shifting sands of Florida leave no stone unturned!

  • and yet, WSVN remains strong. They have facelifted themselves since 1989. Thats what WCIX did here in 1995 after the switch. It was needed. And apparently it worked because they have done better than WTVJ ever since. I will say that WFOR needs a facelift now. They have been the same since like 2001. I'm sure it will come with HD soon.

  • Well I think it is because people down here prefer style over substance for their news. Look at WSVN 7, they haven't changed much at all style-wise since 1989.

  • Well WTVJ staying the same didnt do well for their ratings did it? WCIX needed to update they hadnt changed much since 1986

  • I love the lady's voiceover at the beginning of the clip.

  • "Mrs. Sloan?"

    "Yes?"

    "(FILL IN THE BLANK.)"
