The Atlantic coastlines from NC to NJ got beat up very badly. A lot of beaches and dunes wiped out. Things weren't as dire further inland, though. A bit of high water was all ... and a video op for me!
I was pretty sure that road would be covered in some sections. And even in areas where the water had receded, there could still be salt residue left behind. Slippery stuff! I was riding with restraint!

That weather system was suppose to come over us, but didnt. We could have used the rain. Watching the news I actually thought about your area. Seemed like it was really getting hammered. Hope you didnt have to panic stop after coming over the bridge. Love that 919 sound..great job DP.

Tiger's invite for me got lost in the mail......I assumed he was mad so I stayed at home. His mom sent a nice cake and wished us well.......yea right!. haha
We escaped into the mountains and away from the crowds.
What a beautiful ride. Too bad it got cut short. With the trees so close to the road, any problems with wildlife?

We do have some pretty nice roads around here. Probably just about as good as it gets in the Mid Atlantic shore area. The country lanes are very lightly traveled. As to wildlife, the whitetail deer are the biggest problem. There are like a zillion of them! I've had numerous close encounters, but fortunately no impacts ... yet. Knock on wood! :)

I always try to avoid even freshwater flooded roads wherever possible. I rode through a few fords on previous bikes and always ended up replacing the wheel bearings shortly afterwards. Coincidence? Maybe, but now I don't take the chance.

Yeah, I will always try and avoid any kind of standing water myself. But I certainly went through my share back in the dirt bike years, and never had any wheel bearing issues. That I was aware of, that is!

Thank you for the compliment! I've been riding for a LONG time, so I guess that it's not that much of a stretch for me to do a bit of commentary along the way.
I just did a news search in regards to the flooding in your area, btw. Wow! Much worse than we've just had around here. Hope your house is dry!
