Des 'Tuppence' Moran laid to rest

SEVERAL hundred mourners have arrived to farewell Desmond "Tuppence" Moran at his funeral in Essendon.

About 50 journalists, photographers and cameramen waited outside the Roselyn Court Receptions after being refused entry to the funeral, the Moonee Valley Leader reports.

One mourner muttered the words "its a disgrace" as he walked through the gate.

Moran family friend Mick Gatto arrived earlier this morning.

A Judy Moran impersonator, wearing a theatrical costumer, dark glasses and long blonde wig, was refused entry by security guards.

"I said can I come in and the security guard said oh no not you'," she said

"Police told me to get out of here but I came to pay my last respects to a great and very wealthy man."

The matriarch of the Moran family, the real Judy Moran is in police custody.

A man watching the procession - who was a neighbour of Mark Moran and has been to the funerals of Mark, Jason and Lewis Moran - said he was fascinated with the family.

"Short black dresses and blonde hair and mean looking dudes seem to be the order of the day," the man said.
