KDKA-TV 2: Eyewitness News 1994

They changed the set and the logo right after the 1992 Winter Olympics. During the actual Olympics they had new promos featuring the news team featuring the new logo--I may be wrong about this, but I believe those promos aired a week or two in advance.

It was something that KDKA had been doing for years. I remember reading an article written by the guy who created the very first 80's tunnel open; on his first trip through the city's Fort Pitt Tunnel he was so taken by the contrast between the sameness of the tunnel and the abrupt appearance of the city skyline that he felt it had a place in the open. It's true, the view isn't exactly the same, but it's breathtaking.
