An interpretation thing:

When you were talking about single tails, you called them whips. Whip, to me, is along the stock/bullwhip lines. Like Indiana Jones.

I've caught myself with one and had a welt go from my shoulder to the bottom of my ribs. The long way round.That hurt like a bitch. For about an hour. I'll post a link to pics.

it all depends on the type... some people enjoy using them as well.. personal preference again... and there is an art to them which i haven't tried, nor do i really want to master.. but with a whip you are only supposed to hit with the "cracker" part. :)

I think it's supposed to be a nothingth of a second after the crack, but i really don't know how hitting people with these works.

It put a space in there :S. Copy and paste it, and get rid of the space or the %20 between the D and the SC bit.

2nd... you are very lucky that it didnt' cut skin..... and probably lucky that it wasn't a flogger.. a hit like that with a rubber flogger to your spine would have done some serious damage. :)

Each person has his or her own preferances, but I crave the "stingy" pain, but find the "thud" feel to be a distraction.

anything seriously damaging will interfere with future play, and for a lot Doms part of being a Dom is taking care of the sub and therefore making sure the sub doesn't get hurt in any serious way. Having to take a trip to the hospital kind of puts a damper on the scene too. And some couples will cut as part of play, but damage would mean cutting into veins or something by accident - im pretty sure death isnt a desirable outcome for even the most extreme bdsm couples.
