1984 Olympic Women's 3000m final - Maricica Puica

This race was marked by the infamous Mary Decker/Zola Budd incident. I've been reluctant to post the video because it's so choppy, the tape stopped more than 10 times, including at the exact moment of the Decker/Budd episode, which is slightly past the 2 minute mark. There is a slow motion look at the end of the video. The full race is available elsewhere on YouTube, but it's not the ABC version.

In my opinion this is completely Decker's fault when you watch the video Buds face is forward SHE DOES NOT SEE DECKER. Commentators comments are so bias for the Americans....."its never an Americans fault is it" I feel embarrassed for the commentator and sorry for Decker but accidents happen.Grow up and deal with it!

When you are training for years to be at your peak for a few minuets, you don't just dismiss the hurt that comes from that!

Although Budd was jeered by the crowd, an IAAF jury found that she was not responsible for the collision. Decker said many years after the event "The reason I fell, some people think she tripped me deliberately. I happen to know that wasn’t the case at all. The reason I fell is because I am and was very inexperienced in running in a pack."

The USA started the Mexican War when we crossed the border between Mexico and USA in 1902 to apprehend Pancho Villa and Geronimo. As far as I can see thats the only time the USA ever started a war. We join in sometimes to shepherd the weak from dictators but we dont start it. Dont violate the rights of the weak and I can assure the USA will "let you operate".
