Try it out at http://betweenpageandscreen.com/

Between Page And Screen is an augmented-reality book of poems. Like a digital pop-up book, you hold the words in your hands.

Any computer can play Between Page And Screen; all you need is a webcam. Follow the instructions to print out a marker, then visit http://betweenpageandscreen.com/book , turn on your webcam, and show the marker to your camera. The animations will appear on your screen.

Written by Amaranth Borsuk (http://amaranthborsuk.com/) and programmed by Brad Bouse. The book is letterpress printed and hand-bound. The animations are programmed in Flash using the FLARkit library.

The poems comprise a series of letters between two lovers, P and S, as they attempt to define their relationship, as well as animations based on keywords from their letters that draw on the history of concrete poetry.

Produced initially as a limited-edition artist's book, the book is forthcoming in trade edition from Siglio Press: http://www.sigliopress.com/books/bps.htm

Music by M.C. Cullah - "JazzBass"
