Suvarna News Karnataka Bhagawatha

Suvarna News recently produced the video as a part of Kalakshetra, a cultural magazine, highlighting the epic Karnataka Bhagawatha which was released on July 6, 2008, for the first time in a complete edited form. This ground breaking work of monumental proportion was the result of an Amerikannadiga's 15 year effort. Holalkere Chandrasekhar transcribed, translated (into English) and edited this work from a 255 year old palm leaf manuscript by Shri Ramannaiah. A group of Kannada scholars under Professor T.V. Venkatachala Sastry from Karnataka worked over two years in the editing process. This movie is of cultural, historic and literary significance and we thank SUVARNA TV NEWS for this video.
