  • also, there WAS sand in that bucket...right?

  • well, how much did each stick of balsa weigh??

  • How much did i hold? what was the efficiency?

  • Can you recommend where to purchase the balsa wood from? Thanks

  • @thinker93 yes i agree with that but if you look at time 3:53 when the tower tips over, you can see that the BASE is approximately 20 by 5. its rectangular............. this saves just as much mass as a rotated, square base.......if not more..

  • @yoachallenge

do you mean the openning was rectangular? either way, if you span the gap so that the tower is rotated 45 degrees relative to the openning, it will save on wood.

  • @thinker93 um......no.......they used a rectangular ~5 by 20 base not a 20 by 20 base. it is roughly just as light as a 15by15cm base if not lighter. Im really interested in knowing how much the tower weighed.

  • you can save wood and reduce mass by spanning the gap in the base on the sides instead of on the corners of the opening. Just use Pythagorean theorem to find how far apart your legs need to be.
