Just the effect of recording the TV with a camera gives it that retro, slightly grainy look. (Sorry for the late response)

There's actually two guitars here, with a synth in there :P From what i can tell one of them is using heavy distortion with pumped bass and reverb, then there's one playing clean which alternates with a wah peddle. The synth is doing what a synth dose :P good band boys!
