Hurricane Katrina destroyed this dark ride designed and built by Sally Corporation for Jazzland / Six Flags New Orleans in 2005. Video showing the ride and park (when new) and the destruction after the Hurricane hit. This park is still closed as of 1/11...Rest in Peace Jazzland!

  • I that Aretha Franklin at 5:23?

  • Jazzland Park is coming back

  • i bet if the people who owned it before and when it was called jazzland they would have reopend it but then six flags took it over then it flooded and six flags abandoned it!

  • That's to bad but that is one freaky ride! I thought it would just be shooting at targets in mardi gras scenes. Why do dark rides have to be "haunted"?

  • @JoaquinandRene It's near the gulf and some lakes, but not the ocean. It's just under sea level so any heavy raining will cause it to hold water and flood. But the city of New Orleans was a happening place so I'm sure at the time they thought it would be a good spot for a park being they have a lot of tourists go there.

  • Wow, thank you for sharing this video. I'm from La, but I never went to Six Flags. I love that you actually showed us the ride as if we were on it. It's so crazy to see it once full of life and now it's so desolate and creepy.

  • that new company might bring this ride back to life.

  • it's funny i'm french, and didn't know you were saying mardi gras in french xD

  • I remember going to Jazzland with my parents and sister in 2001. I was eight at the time, and it is one of my happiest memories of my life. It nearly brings me to tears that this place, even though it was changed to Six Flags, is gone. This ride amazed me even though I didn't get to ride it. Thanks a ton for the video upload!

  • @JoaquinandRene Its not near the "Ocean" its near several other bodies of water.but you ask why?because the entire city of New Orleans is near some body of water whether it be a lake, river or gulf and if they wanted to build it in New orleans, then they had no choice.Thats why.
