I'm thinking of what Paul did on Mars Hill in I think 1 Cor. All the statues were addressed to certain gods except one which read "To an known god". Paul then said " I know the God who you're talking about" and many people got saved from it.
Another example was when Jesus used mudd to heal a blind. Mudd was known to have healing components. Of course it didn't but that's what the culture believed. Point in both cases are using the secular culture to minister, instead of the Christian culture
