Signed English and Auslan share a huge number of signs..really the difference is the grammar. I learned Signed English at the same time I started learning Auslan. I understand WHY SE was developed, but wow, it is so clumsy and unnatural when one breathes in the wonderful expressiveness of Auslan!

This is great. Thanks! I have been using Signed English when I went to school. By going to deaf clubs and watching YouTube, I am converting from signed English to Auslan...shouldn't be hard, right? Since many Auslan signs seems similar to that of Signed English.
