  • love how someone jumped into the pool & then treated their vic like a spinal! NOT!

  • willie ur a dumba** shk9664 i know what your talking about thumbs up for u thumbs done for willie!!

  • tubes can be great assets when doing rescues. It puts less stress on the rescuer and offfers more comfort for the victim. Although I am sure we are all qualified lifeguards, and we are all able to rescue with the bare minimum, but if we have the tools to perform safer rescues, then we can put our ego's aside, and use a tube, etc... Safe guarding:)

  • I immediately ditch my aid when I am using LSS standards, Ellis standards I keep it on me because it is a requirement. RC standards I ignore because they are just a joke.

  • @Willie5566 im teaching 12 year olds, it takes one to communicate with one.

  • @havingfunhere, my pools only 4 foot deep and Im over 6 foot tall, I don't need my tube, the only time I do is when I jump off the high stand so I dont kill myself when I jump in.

  • @shk9664

I'm a Red Cross guy too. It comes down to personal preference I guess, but when the sh*t hits the fan when you're not at work and you don't have a tube around, it is nice to be able to rescue someone without one. I just happen to think it's easier to make bare-handed rescues at work as well.

(Screw the tube! You don't need it! And it's good to practice rescues without it anyway.)

  • @shk9664

You have the grammar of a 12 year old and I am supposed to think you are credible? I have been doing this a long time junior. Your explanation of lifeguarding vs. lifesaving are laughable. Congrats on being an instructor, apparently you think you are the only one on here that is. Please send me one of your awards that you are certified to give out...lol.

  • @havingfunhere

Fianlly another guard. PIA all the way.

  • @Willie5566

Star GUARD? RED CROSS??? those are life saving programs. There are somethign called LIFEGUARDing which means that you get paid to services. Yes i know lifesaving and life guarding there is a huge difference. Please get your facts straight, cause i have taught lifesaving and lifeguarding and qualified to certify lifesaving awards. If you were a lifeguard which u arnt, you would know that lifeguards do not save people with rescue tubes in the pool. So before you speak please learn.
