They're not NECESSARILY dead, you know. In my opinion, since it has been PROVEN Cas can time travel, the only way that the devil can be stopped is for Cas to go back to Cold Oak and stop jake from killing Sam to START with... and then Jo, Ellen AND Ash would still live, Dean never would've gone to hell, ect. I think that is the way the series should END, like a "Bobby in the shower" but less lame.
