  • Hey cloverleaf. I believe Steve smoked for 7 years starting at age 12 and left school at 13 to learn a trade.

    Definitely a legend!

  • @philip1mus Today's British marathon runners are a pile of shit - and this is because most of the youth of today are a pile of shit. Nobody has the motivation, the will or the guts to even take up the hobby of marathon running anymore let alone produce world beaters. Most people in the street would not even have any concept of the speed these guys run 26 miles at, let alone the training involved.

  • I love how this is the chicago marathon, and yet, there are british commentators still....lol

  • What a ledge, still the quickest GB, if some of the current crop worked as hard as he did. Love of the commentators has no clue it was a WR until 600m to go!

  • @cymrusteve thnx 4 putting this up he is my uncle and he is awesome

  • @mixedbreed19 They're Australian......

  • @mixedbreed19 They're Australian commentators, led by Bruce McEvaney...

  • what pace are they running around 1:45

  • When I started out running as a kid during the 80's I was convinced I was Steve Jones.

  • A year or two later Jones actually misses the world record by 1 second.. one second! (Lopes had set the new world record shortly after this race).

  • Steve never did or does not the credit he deserves. he worked hard and trained hard and the training sessions did were extremely hard and I did some of them with him. He did have an excelent coach in Bob Wallis. Hard as as nails.
