  • This was pre-beef. Also, Coolio actually got over it a couple of years ago when he saw Al signing autographs. They talked and Coolio even signed a picture of Al with his own signature. Pictures of this are on Weird Al's website and you can see them through a video on my channel.

Also, Coolio's label told Al that he had given permission when they apparently didn't even run it by him, so really, I'd blame Coolio's record label for the incident.

  • yea seriously coolio was mad as hell at one point in time

  • Coolie may not have liked Al's parody, but he kept the check Al sent him!!!

  • I never knew what Al's hair was making parodying XD

  • Btw, the 90's were the pinnacle of society.

  • why would u hate a parody it just advertises your song. wtf. lol.

  • 1:16-1:17 XD

  • @SmashKitten

Actually, what I suspect is that Coolio DID agree and pretended to have a problem with it as a publicity stunt. There's no actual evidence to support this, but there IS circumstantial evidence. For example, it IS known that Coolio's people agreed to it, and it's highly unlikely that they didn't run it by him first. I think, the logical assumption is that the dispute was all a publicity stunt that Coolio forgot to run by Weird Al before pulling.

  • @shwilly The line is "Tonight is Eddie Vedder's macrame class."

  • @shwilly "...macrame class, so uh, Coolio and I will be happy to accept the award by his behalf."

  • Anyone catch the joke at the end? I can't make out what he says: "tonight is Eddie Vedder's (...)"

  • @0deefreak "the white guy" is legendary parody musician Weird Al Yankovic, and he had it hair like that to make fun of people who have their hair like that.
