Untitled (Final Project, Intro to Media, UC San Diego, Spring 2010)

Our final project for Vis 70N Intro to Media, spring 2010 at UC San Diego. It was unfortunately was not named in time before we turned it in after a long, cracked out all-nighter fine-tuning, so we're going to have to go with a pseudo-artsy "Untitled"...

Group members were me (Charlotte Dean), Taylor Hogshead, Phoenix Lawton, Cherry Chen, and George Ponty.

The assignment was "experimental," the only requirements that it be made with university equipment, 3-5 minutes long and ideally not shot on UC San Diego campus. Our concept was a dream-state in which our protagonist (Taylor) finds himself journeying hypnotically toward a destination with a growing sense of dread, which finally climaxes in something unknown and terrible, and he is sucked back through the journey to awake disturbed and shaken, as if he's still trapped in the dream. At least, something like that. Make of it what you will.

We all contributed in everything, but I (Charlotte) did the majority of the editing, Phoenix handled a majority of the shooting, Taylor saved our asses with his sound technician skills, and George and Cherry helped with a little of everything.

Thanks to Prof. Michael Trigilio and TA Anna Lavatelli for filling our heads with some crazy stuff.
