My first chase of the 2010 season started out great. I went to the Texas Panhandle and set up in McLean Texas which is right by I-40. The storm developed to the southwest of me which was perfect for driving to it and picking my spot. Before I knew it a whole brigade of storm chasers showed up where I was located. One of them did the 'No no' that we all stress to never do, he stopped on the road instead of pulling off the road. This is what caused the end of my video to be a bit ruined, because he had me blocked from being able to position my truck to film the tornado when it really got going good. I had to pull my camera off the mount and get out to film it. And of all things, the rain started to blow sideways which forced me to get back in my truck to try and film it. Otherwise I would have had a video with no camera shaking involved in it. Seems like I have been cursed on getting a great video of a tornado for some reason.

  • Stop shaking the camera, its giving me a headache.

  • @smurfboywv If the other storm chaser had not blocked me in, the shaking and spinning the camera off the tripod would have never happened. I was just as aggrivated about having this video ruined, especially when the tornado got its closest to me. I chose not to argue with the other chaser, or otherwise I would have missed on watching it the rest of the way before it lifted up. The sudden spray of drizzle didn't help either. It was like evil forces were joining together to ruin my video.

  • It was really fascinating to see the two funnel clouds developing...It's always a treat when that happens. You have beautiful footage and a really steady hand which is nice. I hate watching those videos with the shaking hands missing it up. How powerful did this tornado end up being?

  • @MusicFreekification I actually had the camera on a monopod that I made into a mount for the camera. I had to spin the camera off when the tornado got behind the mirror. I hate the shaking too, which actually ruined a couple of my vids. If the tornado had hit anything, I say it would have probably been rated EF-2.

  • Waw, really nice and spectacular capture ! Thank you very much for sharing your video with me.

  • @ExtremeSpinner99 I figured you would want to see it since you like storms too. Thanks for watching.

  • And the birds are singing..

  • @Torn80cj Oh I understand. Next time bring a shot gun :-) I love watching tornado videos.

  • @LindaKitch if you think you're luck enough then see it , if unlucky that tonardo appears in high speed with about 300 miles/per hours or second. then you are "luck" enough .

  • i seen bigger

  • Awesome video even though that other chaser blocked you in. Thanks for not editing anything out, it was awesome watching this tornado develop and disappear. Really cool. You sure did spin that camcorder off the mount like really fast. Too bad the rain blew in right when you stepped out. Good job at keeping your cool, you stuck with the tornado instead of arguing with the other chaser.

  • Really wild looking storm and tornado.
