@trumblewumblehumble errr, actually the story of the witcher games takes place after the books end (which, without spoiling anything, was a very... interesting.. move - lol).

They just used the short story featuring the striga / princess Adda in the trailer, to show the witcher universe, i guess...

@Namelessman102 The last wish is the first book of the original witcher series, followed by the sword of destiny (which unfortunately isn't released in the US). Both of them are short story collections. The story of the first witcher game which is featured in this video for example is the first story of 'the last wish'.

The other 5 books are novels. the first one is released in the US, called 'blood of the elves'.

See al those comparisons were wrong would have been closer if you called him, Chuck Norris per say, but hero is the last thing he is because in the witcher books, although they mention it alot, all main characters are beyond the simple idea o good and evil, light versus dark, order fighting with chaos those couldn't mean more to Geralt if you put them on a huge pair of boobs.

i like the way some people try to make this political. "witcher is our slovian hero- he is no english saxon - geralt is polish". Come on, lighten up people. Geralt is a fictional character from a fictional universe and there is nothing in his story that can connect him with something polish, except the fact that he poland made. I declare myself a witcher fan, and witcher is my counter attack weapon when i hear people talking about harry potter, percy jackson, eragon and especially twilight.
