Soviet National Anthem. Red Square (1945)

Soviet National Anthem played on May 9, 1945 celebrating victory in the Great Patriotic War. From Stalingrad to Berlin the mighty Red Army crushed the fascists and liberated Europe. The Soviet front of World War II was the greatest theatre of war in human history.

Few people realize Eastern Europe not the West, bore the overwhelming bulk of the Nazi onslaught. In the areas of the USSR occupied by the fascists 20 million civilians were murdered, and the complete or partial destruction of 1,710 cities and towns, 70,000 villages/hamlets, 2,508 church buildings, 31,850 industrial establishments, 40,000 miles of railroad, 4100 railroad stations, 40,000 hospitals, 84,000 schools, and 43,000 public libraries was carried out. Seven million horses, and 17 million sheep and goats were also slaughtered or driven off lands. No people or nation in this world have ever endured such devastation and emerged triumphant, and resilient.

@CrankCase08 Do you dispute any of the facts that I mentioned? The Red Army was pivotal to the defeat of fascist armies in World War II. I am aware of the repressions during Stalin's regime, but even this regime and its industrialization and rearmament of the country played an essential part in allowing for the successful defense against Nazi aggression... The topic of this video is World War II and the victory against fascism, I am more than willing to discuss Soviet history though if you like.

"crushed the facists and liberated europe" yes, war is always like crushing a bug with the fingers, would ur grandpa agree with it? And because all the countries felt liberated, they all wanted to be independed from the sowjet union 5 years later. Maybe you looked 2 much 9-mai movies?
