Sonic Pocket Adventure - Unused Intro Sequence!

This intro sequence was discovered in a Sonic Pocket Adventure sample cartridge, discovered in this forum thread: http://forums.sonicretro.org/index.php?showtopic=10353

The audio itself does not work in emulators, so I've manually overlayed it here. The sample only contains the special stage and Neo South Island Zone, so it's not much. Regardless, many stories about this intro sequence have been told over the years, but to actually see it now is quite a treat!

Considering the system, this whole sequence is pretty damned impressive, actually! Too bad they had to cut it. As for why they cut it, I figure it's because the music was a gigantic chunk of RAW PCM data, which takes up a ton of ROM space. :P
