This is a very rough version of Bass Communion's song Glacial 1602 from the 'Molotov and Haze' album. This is nowhere near as high a standard of Steven's beautifully filtered piece you'll find on the album, due to the fact that the whole thing took me around an hour, so I'll upload a better and longer version whenever I find the time.

To whomever would enjoy this, keep on enjoying it.

  • Someone asked how I did this and I removed the comment by mistake!

This WAS done with 'ordinary electric guitar'. All you need is a volume swell pedal (you can use your volume knob on your guitar if you don't have a pedal) and a long, wet reverb effect. The technique is straight forward; play the chord without the volume and raise the volume as the chord rings. The reverb makes it deep, harmonic and gives it more transience. The chords are Am, Bm, C.

    Have fun!

  • Wow, that's awesome!

The original sound wasn't made from guitar, is it?

  • @daggerls

    I'm pretty sure it was!

  • Very nice.

How did you recreate that? What programs are you using?

  • @DwarfArtillery Hi, just a basic recording program called WavePad (freeware) with no additional editing done. Had one track recorded for the chords and one track for the lead which is what the video is of. Other than that, I used a BOSS GT-3 with a DI box going into the computer. Thanks.
