This isn't pretty BJJ, but it is an interesting bit of history. This submission victory via triangle choke was in the finals of the USDA California State Championships White Belt Featherweight (150 and under) division. Rudy Fischmann vs unknown in March of 2002. In this match, Rudini shows how he earned his nickname... for his natural ability at mysteriously escaping very bad positions. Rudy Fischmann was promoted a few days later to the rank of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Blue Belt by the legendary Professor John Machado. While Rudy "Rudini" Fischmann competed avidly as a Blue and Purple Belt, not many of his matches exist on video. His competition record as a Blue Belt was mixed before accomplishing a stunning competition record as a Purple Belt of 17-1. Fischmann would win the Senior No-Gi World Championships as a Featherweight Brown Belt and Represented the USA at the 2009 FILA World Championships in the 66kg division as a Black Belt.
