I'm not sure how he got this to work just as plain Doom, but you can google "ZDoom" and use that as the replacement engine. Just copy the WADS to your zdoom folder and presto, DOOM!!!

@zlim751 Well if you're wondering why it wouldn't work is because you are using a more modern computer. So there is the Dosbox which is a emulator where you can run it but it can be tricky because you have to type in codes to install and run the game.

Its really not that hard. You just used Doom 95 which has relatively little tweaks needed to run on new systems.

u only need Dplay.dll if u get the "Dplay.dll error message" when u try to start the game. but if the game works fine when u open it up,your laughing :))) some vista users hav this problem,but i didnt coz the file was alredy there:))) good luk. gotta love the double barrel shotty, my fav..

Okay, so does the Dplay.dll file have the game itself? Or is it a pach to make the game work on Vista? Because the file I downloaded only hase one file, the game it'self I do not know. But, I'll keep working on it.

no, sorry Dplay.dll is just an extension 4 some vista users. U can only download the shareware version of doom from the net which contains the first episode only,just google it. i downloaded the full game off "limewire" program.good luk oh and yay 4 us.

just type in "DPLAY.dll download" in google and it will come up. it doesn't need 2 be installed.if its a zipped file,just unzip and place in your doom folder. lol, yay 4 us.
