Duran Duran was approached by iTunes via their new awesome manager and was asked to release an early version of "All You Need Is Now". The second release will have the completed album version with extra tracks that were not ready for release last month. Looking forward to the singles and the full complete album tracks!! Keep your eyes on ebay...promos for AYNIN have started popping up!!
@Swagaization It's possible that a "fav" track of mine may lurk in the unreleased portion, but it's hard to say. I'm also avoiding listening to the first half because I want to hear the WHIOLE album at one time when it comes out in full. (although I did listen to the single repeatedly, as well as clips of "Being Followed" - which I really liked.)
@glennpagemusic: Speaking of discovered gems, DD reportedly is releasing their album in sections; First, one half of the album is being released on I-Tunes as an advanced promotion for the album, and then a second half, will be released later, as the official main release of the album. Now, I don't know if the tracks that are currently on You Tube, include that second half, or if the best is yet to come?
@Swagaization Secret Ocktober was great. I love how bands used to put hidden little unreleased songs, instrumentals and outtakes on b-sides and 12 inch singles and things like that. It was always awesome when you discovered a real gem!
@glennpagemusic: You know, I could live with the tracks that you selected. I dislike the Reflex, as it is a pop song, one...that completedly abandoned DD's sound. The Union of The Snake, was yet another poppy mistake. However, New Moon On Monday, could have worked, as it is a wonderful song, musically, but the chorus' lyrics, should have been something else, as they were weak, leaving listeners, clueless? Lastly, Secret Ocktober, with a different lyrical hook, should have been on the album.
@Swagaization While there are a few songs on "7" that I could live without, (Believe it or not, "The Reflex" is one of them, as well as "Tiger Tiger") there are others that I would rank amongst my very favorite DD songs (like "New Moon" and "Crime and Passion"). In fact, "Shadows on Your Side" could be my very FAVORITE DD song of all time.
