@StefStrife ok but blind guardian did the bard's song which is not particularly metal, and they're still totally considered a metal band. i think there is a lot of room for metal bands to expand upon their sounds, which is one of the beautiful things about it as a genre. i don't think a few non-metal songs here and there make a7x not a metal band, and i think calling them a metal band is much more of a compliment than anything.

@MM2011RHP I'm not saying they are not a metal band, as they obviously have very definite metal influences and signatures. most of their music is metal. but they have so much other aspects that they are not just metal, in my opinion, so to call them a 'metal band' is kind of pigeonholing them into one thing.
