The standings at the end is how it finished, at least as far as medalists. The West German coneheads couldn't do better than silver.
I watched this when first broadcast and remember all too well poor Huang Liu-Chong at 8:29 and how the crowd laughed at him after he skidded to a halt, then got back on his sled and tried to finish.
Fantastic stuff, citius -- not easy to find ABC broadcast footage of either Games in '76, and the commercials are just as fun to see again. Thanks so much!
