CLARIFYING, since it's surprising how people can't interprete the vid: This video doesn't imply that feminists kept the male BC pill from getting to the market.

IT JUST SHOWS:

1) THE NARRATIVE OF ONE WELL KNOWN SCIENTIST WHO CREATED ONE OF THE VERSIONS OF A MBCP AND HIS MEETING WITH A GROUP OF FEMINISTS LEADED BY BETTY FRIEDAN IN A PUBLIC MEETING, AND IMPLIES THAT BETTY FRIEDAN WAS NOT A "MODERATED FEMINIST" (well, in case you still have the dellusion that feminists fighting the "Patriarchy" are "moderated, egalitarian, equity" feminists instead of simply anti-men feminists).

2) DR. COUTINHO ALSO SUMMARIZES WHY IT IS TECHNICALLY SO DIFFICULT TO PRODUCE A BIRTH CONTROL PILL FOR MEN, IN COMPARISON TO THE WOMEN'S BC PILL.

3) HOW GOSSYPOL WORKS, AND DEFENDS HIS DISCOVERY, BASED ON STUDIES. THIS VIDEO DOESN'T PROVE THAT THE OTHERS STUDIES SHOWING THAT GOSSYPOL DOES HAVE SIDE EFFECTS WRONG.

Dr. Elsimar Coutinho is a Brazilian physicist, endocrinologist and human reproduction scientist.

In this interview he also tells how and why feminists, leaded by Betty Friedan, boycotted his male birth control pill presentation, in a World Population Congress.

Some people came to comment that I didn't mention the controversy on the use of gossypol, because they didn't read the description.

As an example, I found a critical article on Gossypol here:
http://malecontraceptives.org/methods..., but there are others.

Dr. Elsimar Coutinho is a well known specialist in human reproduction and birth control, and became also known for his controversial advocacy of menstruation suspension.

Apart from the sexist "pussy" remark, (sounds like typical feminist contradiction - just saying), no. He claims to have given up on it because the Health Ministry (ANVISA) didn't approve it and he didn't want to fight for it any further. I can only guess that there wasn't heavy interest from investors. However, there are studies challenging the "no side effects" of gossypol.

Yea I do not know whether his product had side effects or not, but that was not the problem. The problem for the feminists was giving men freedom, not that the pill might have side effects.

funny how peoples from women studies take offense at any word use of a feminine term and how it's a part of the patriarcy.. A system that no longer exist based in the fathers as the main figure of authority and a society revolving around that. A system in which the fathers had to be the primary caregivers of a entire familly and was accountable te be punish for any crime made by any members of the familly due to an hierarchy with religious influences. feminist seem to forget that part a lot...

so sterile heterosexual couples shouldn't be allowed to get married because they can't have kids? You are using a poor argument that has already been debunked and destroyed.

Feminists don't want the male pill. Because women may need to have something called "relationships" with a Man. They might have to actually have to get married before having kids. Or they would have to wait until they can afford In vitro fertilisation. Also I get sick of "Would they take it". If your a man your going be taking that pill as if your life depends on it. Because it dose.

"Pussy?" Wow, you must have internalized some of that patriarchal hatred of the feminine.

We may not be wild, but we still have instincts. I agree with you that emotions aren't the same as logic and reason. Love does make you blind.

I disagree with your last statement to some degree but that's just my opinion though, I have to say.

The point is, though, that the male pill shouldn't have been given up on or refuted based on whether or not men will abuse the use such a pill or a woman's trust with this pill as women are capable of such abuse with their pill and many have.

"But, like all animals, we're made to be driven by emotions." Human can use reason and imbibe emotions, we are not wild animal or Bonobo.

Arranged marriage still respect the partner choice if they get along or not, but love marriage don't work because love make you irrational when you choose your partner, love marriage is irrational and cant' last ! Love make you blind !

It's terrible to make our choice only by emotions that's why our current society is going to the toilet.

Can a mute illiterate human get married? yes. Communication is not necessary through words, it can simply be seen through actions, that is how criminal courts view it. If an animal acts by its own accords in engaging in any act then it is consent. Marriage is a human concept but monogamy is not.

Its like saying an animal did not consent to eating its food simply because it did not sign a contract. Even though it voluntarily ate its food.

That's the problem! Feminists are trying to redefine consent to mean that male sexuality = rape; that women can never really consent to sex, ever, just because they're women. They hurting both men and women by treating men like they're monsters that can do no right and women like they're children can do no wrong and can't do things for themselves.
