Geography Matters

It is really important that all students study Geography at school. Geography not only gives better spatial awareness so we know where things are but deals with the big issues - the only subject that gives the full picture on sustainable living, fairtrade, poverty, renewable energy, migration, urban regeneration, food miles, floods, droughts, hurricanes and hazard management.

Those with a special interest go into GIS (Geographical Information Systems) related industries (Logistics, Retail, Emergency Services, etc). Others go into urban/rural planning (Local Authorities and private sector), environmental (Environment Agency, environmental campaign groups, service industries), physical geography (river/coastal management agencies, hazard management) - the list goes on. A modern Geography degree can lead to employment in a very wide range of professions. Good question.

my geography teacher showed me this too, i'm not a big fan of geography and don't really pay attention, but after watching this video, it made me realise how important geography is :)
